METAL DETECTION SCREENING SERVICES

Both walk-through magnetometers (airport style) and state-of-the-art Evolv Express Contact-less Security Checkpoints, as well as handheld metal detection units are available for any type of event or venue.

Protection Security Group LLC’s Special Event Officers are trained in the operation of the above-described units.

They are also trained and available to conduct searches of individuals using a hand-held scannerand perform visual inspections of bags/parcels when other types of magnetometers are not suitable for the event environment.

GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGES

Protection Security Group LLC maintains General Liability Insurance for the following coverages/amounts; Commercial General Liability Insurance of $1,000,000.00 per occurrence with a General Aggerate of $2,000,000.00.

This includes coverage for Assault and Battery and Errors and Omissions. Certificates of Insurance can be provided upon request.

Additional coverage can be obtained if required by contract.

WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE COVERAGES

Protection Security Group LLC maintains all mandatory New York State Workers Compensation coverages as required by law

PSG Executive Management, Operations Managers, and Supervisors are not just there to visit client sites and make sure our Security Officers are presentable.

They play an additional role by being available to assist beyond the general scope of security when needed.

They can assist in helping identify developing conditions and unusual occurrences that can affect a client’s operations. We work to provide solutions in an immediate and resourceful manner.

CLIENT ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

An Operations Manager is assigned to each client location.

The Operations Manager is the direct primary contact between the client and all levels of PSG.

They meet with clients on a regular basis to review their needs and staff performance.

They also make unannounced site visits to monitor the Security Officers assigned at the location.

As a local area security provider, our turnover rate at all levels of staff and management are very low with a high retention rate.

This contrasts with national and regional security companies that have a high level of account management and staff turnover.

PSG clients are always able to contact the same Operations Manager initially assigned to their account on a long-term, reliable basis.

This is an important resource to our clients, one that large corporate-owned national and regional security companies cannot maintain.

SUPERVISION

All of PSG’s Supervisors, Operations Managers, and Executive staff have worked as Security Officers at various types of client locations prior to taking the next step in their careers.

This direct work experience of being in a post has helped them understand the concerns, issues, situations, and resolutions to conditions that the client and Security Officers they oversee experience daily.

They have the ability via their training, work experience, and client expectations to address and provide guidance and instruction to the Security Officer and client alike.

All client locations that have a full-time Supervisor assigned, the Supervisor has the additional responsibility of being the liaison between the client and Security Officer.

They interact with the client daily and at times hourly, and this open communication ensures the security team receives instructions and reacts to changing conditions.

They also have the responsibility to handle basic administrative duties, such as reviewing reports, alerts, and logbook entries.

STAFF CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING

PSG places a high value on how vitally important our clients’ customers, staff, guests, and vendors are to their business.

We fully understand the need for each PSG Security Officer to represent our clients in a welcoming, professional, and respectful manner to all those entering and exiting the client’s location while performing their duties.

When an individual enters a client’s location (often the first representative of our client’s business), they encounter the PSG Security Officer, and they see the last representative of our client as they exit.

PSG Security Officers are attired at most locations, in a black business suit, crisp and clean white shirt, and tie.

Their only identification as an employee of PSG is the ¾-inch company lapel pin worn on the left lapel of their suit jacket.

Anyone entering or exiting the location only knows that the first and last person they see is the business Security Officer.

First and last impressions count, and the experience that visitors have while inside the client’s location to shop, attend meetings/events, or delivering a package leaves an impression that they will remember.

We make sure the memory is positive and lasting.

All PSG Security Officers are trained, instructed and continually reminded to greet anyone entering or exiting with either a verbal welcome/goodbye (depending on client instructions) or via eye contact and, at the very least, a nod of the head and a smile.

This small gesture provides notice that they are in a friendly and, most importantly, safe environment monitored by a professional Security Officer.

SECURITY TRAINING

All Security Officers in New York State are required to be trained and licensed prior to beginning employment, as required by the NYS Security Guard Act of 1992.

This legislation requires finger printing and a background check performed by the New York State Department of State, Division of Licensing, in conjunction with the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services.

It also requires ongoing mandated training requirements for Security Officers, including eight-hour pre-employment, 16-hour-on-the-job training, and an annual eight-hour refresher course.

All the training is classroom-based and performed by a Licensed Security Instructor at an NYS Licensed School. Certificates of completion are required for their security license to be issued and continued.

In addition to the required New York State Training, all PSG Security Officers are provided with detailed site-specific training and post orders/instructions upon assignment to a client location.

Both the training and post orders/instructions are developed by PSG Operations and Administrative staff and comprise information obtained from client handbooks and received through the results of discussions with client management detailing their specific needs and requirements as well as general operating procedures utilized in the security industry.

The post orders/instructions are then provided to each Security Officer assigned to the client’s locations.

Operations managers and Supervisors provide individual instruction and review of the post orders/instructions to ensure that each Security Officer has a full understanding of their content and can perform the required functions described in a professional and consistent manner.

Post orders/instructions are reviewed both annually and on an as-needed basis and are adjusted and amended to meet changing needs and situations that arise.

STAFF SELECTION

This is where the caring starts. Other security companies leave the initial selection and hiring of their Security Officers to a junior member of the Human Resources department staff who may have little (if any) experience in the contract security industry and has been instructed to “fill the open post.”

PSG has a different outlook on the selection and hiring process of all its forward facing “in the field” staff.

Our staff members are our “product” that we put forth to our clients, and we view the hiring process as an opportunity to provide the best person for each job.

This opportunity only comes once for each new employee, and PSG wants to get it right.

All applicants for employment at PSG are initially interviewed by a Senior Operations or Executive staff member who has vast experience in the security industry.

All of them began as entry level Security Officers, have gained knowledge and experience, and have progressed to their current positions based on their understanding of what is required to properly and professionally perform the job functions.

When an applicant is interviewed by an Operations/Executive level staff member, they evaluate the applicant based on a mindset that goes beyond just “will they show up on time for work?” They are being evaluated by someone who has done the job and can determine if the applicant has the ability and integrity needed to provide the high level of service that PSG and its clients require. If they are offered employment at the conclusion of the interview, they are sent to Human Resources for the required paperwork. PSG cares about its clients and ensures that they are getting the best product possible.

PERMIT ACQUISITION SERVICES

Protection Security Group LLC prepares and submits permit applications and any supporting documentation needed to obtain various types of NYC permits for events on public property.

We act as a liaison between our clients, the NYC permitting agencies, and all other city agencies that are involved in the permit application process.

Protection Security Group LLC provides permit acquisition services to obtain the following types of permits.

NYC Street Activity Permit Office approvals: These are required to conduct an event on public streets, sidewalks, pedestrian plazas and organize curb lane closures for event production parking.
NYC Film Permits: These are required to conduct filming on public streets, sidewalks, and pedestrian plazas.
NYPD Amplified Sound Permits: These are required to utilize public address systems between 9:00 am and 10:00 pm on public streets, sidewalks, and pedestrian plazas.
FDNY Generator Fuel Permits: These are required when operating a generator on public streets, sidewalks, and pedestrian plazas.

TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS/FLAGGERS

Protection Security Group LLC’s Traffic Controllers/Flaggers have extensive experience in pedestrian and vehicular traffic control.

They assist with lane closures, vehicle and pedestrian diversions, directed parking, and flagger duties.

Their training includes procedures for pedestrian and vehicular traffic control in compliance with the National Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the U.S. Department of Transportation.

SECURITY CONSULTING

We offer vulnerability/risk assessments for both individuals and businesses.

These assessments aid in determining any issues or conditions that may affect entities, potentially jeopardizing personal safety and business operations.

Additionally, the results of the survey assist in providing effective recommendations to reduce or eliminate any identified risks.

SPECIAL EVENT OFFICERS

Special Event Officers are provided for events where attendance ranges from a few guests to thousands and at venues that range in size from private residences, to theaters and stadiums.

The experience and knowledge our Special Event Officers have obtained from years of implementing proper crowd control procedures and providing high-level security escorts for private sector and government VIPs is unmatched.

Many event venues are required to obtain an NYC Department of Buildings Temporary Place of Assembly (TPA) to increase the legal occupancy of the facility.

The TPA stipulates the required number of FDNY Certified FO4 Fire Guards that must be on site.

PSG Special Event Officers, who are both NYS Licensed Security Officers and FDNY Certified FO4 Fire Guards, are assigned in a dual role to meet the TPA requirements.

OVERNIGHT SECURITY FOR CONSTRUCTION, REPAIR WORK, AND DISPLAY INSTALLATION

Protection Security Group LLC can provide Security Officers to control access to a store or office location during overnight installations of displays or construction.

Security Officers will be stationed at the location’s primary entrance to restrict access to overnight vendor staff and perform bag checks upon exit.

FDNY FIRE LIFE SAFETY DIRECTORS

Deputy Fire and Life Safety Directors (DFLSDs) support our clients in providing competent, professional, and caring life safety services for commercial buildings. Our DFLSD’s provide front-facing, customer-focused services to our clients.

FDNY FIRE GUARDS

We provide fully trained and certified FDNY FO2, FO3, and FO4 Fire Guards in compliance with NYC Department of Buildings TPA Permits to support client needs in situations where fire systems are offline or a fire watchguard is required.
